Chiropractic care is a means to restore proper function to a joint that is “subluxated”, or out-of-alignment. There are many techniques that chiropractors learn (over 300!) to adjust a joint in any part of the body. Chiropractic physicians specialize in aligning the spine, and have the most academic hours of any physician in adjusting. This means we have the ability to choose from several different techniques the one that is most appropriate and suitable to meet your physical and medical needs.
Physiologic Therapies:
- Ultrasound
- Electrical Muscle Stimulation
- Cryotherapy
- Moist Heat
- Trigger Point Therapy
- Neuromuscular Re-education
Dr.s Brad and Melissa Deiner have additional certification and training in therapy beyond their doctoral degrees. They are nationally board-certified in physiological therapeutics, and have additional certifications in Trigger Point Therapy from New York Chiropractic College. Physiologic Therapies help to enhance a patient’s recovery time by stimulating tissue-repair cells and blood circulation, reducing scar tissue formation, inflammation, and spasm within joint, muscle, ligament, and tendon. Examples of conditions commonly treated by these therapies would be: tendonitis, bursitis, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, whiplash injuries, sprains and strains, and sports injuries.
Self-Care/Home Management Training:
A large part of recovery is performing activities of daily living in such a way that is supportive, not destructive, to the healing process. We provide guidelines, restrictions, and instructions on how to safely perform work, sleep, and daily life functions without further aggravating pain or injuries. We also prescribe exercises and stretching that assist in improving strength and flexibility around injured areas.
Nutrition:
While a large part of our practice is in helping patients achieve physical balance, we also provide assessments which aim at detecting and restoring nutritional imbalance within the body. These deficiencies are often caused by situations such as poor diet, stress, hectic lifestyles, injuries and trauma, and lack of sleep. If left unattended, these can lead to various stages of health problems. A plan is provided for you that, if followed, will help restore you to a better state health. This includes the recommendation of a natural program utilizing whole food supplementation.
Massage: Balancing and Therapeutic:
Your massage may include a variety of techniques to achieve optimal results. For example, if your goal is to relax the therapist can use aromatherapy or moist heat to enhance the benefits of the massage. Each patient is evaluated on a case-by-case basis so that your massage is focused on getting you the reults you want and need.
